Viscoelastic and optical properties of four different PDMS polymers
Because PDMS is known to generally have a refractive index of ~1.4, PDMS-based traction force microscopy may be advantageous in terms of resolution than the polyacrylamide gel-based one. Indeed, our measurements on PDMS show a refractive index of the same order ~1.4, but we found that the different types have clearly distinct values (figure 3 ).
